Dear parents and students:
As we approach the end of February, I am eagerly awaiting the arrival of spring and its longer days, warmer temperatures, and blossoming flowers. For my husband, spring means the beginning of baseball season. We were recently watching a special about Lou Gehrig, and I was deeply moved by his story. I knew that he was a good ball player, but other than that and knowing that he suffered from ALS (now commonly known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease), I could not have told you anything else about him.
